After some years of resistance, the destruction of middle of the street began some weeks ago to build new accommodations and a nursery.
Artists who used to live here for more than fifteen years will have to integrate new artist’s centers.
This rework of the district literally exploded a part of the heart of the street, condemning artists’ collectives to leave the neighborhood.
For the people living around it’s a step to the end of an alternative place in Paris 20.
The spirit of an alternative art in a new fresh building in the meddle of the old district of rue Denoyez.
Rue Dénoyez is therefore not totally dead, a new life should begin even if it is seriously amputated of a part of its soul.
The hope of continuing to have underground discussions does not go out
The underground street art activity is the one of the most active and ancient one of the district and the artists are still happy to find the walls of the odd side of the street.
