Paris’s Marcel Proust’s is a unique Photography workshop Tour in Illiers-Combray

This workshop is a photographic journey into the imaginary world of the premises used as a canvas for writing the novel In Search of Lost Time by Marcel Proust.

We will experience a unique tour in the city to capture the best pictures during the day, the golden hour time and the beginning of the night.
This private workshop photography is open to travellers coming in Paris whatever the season of the year.

LOCATIONS FOR THIS WORKSHOP

Illiers-Combray : The village, the church, the bakery, Tante Leonie’s house, Pre Catelan Garden.
Around Illiers-Combray : Saint-Eman, the church, Vivonne’s sources, the washhouse, Méréglise, Tansonville, VieuxVicq and Villebon castle (if opened). Chartres Cathedral optional on the way back on request.

 WHO IS INTERESTED BY THIS CLASS?

Beginner, confirmed or professional wishing to conduct quick shots of famous places or fantasized by Marcel Proust in his novel A la recherche du temps perdu and wishes in minimal time making images for the Web or for large prints quality.

INTRODUCTION TO THE SHOOTING

The use of the RAW+JPEG mode is recommended for each shooting. Explanations and analyzes before and after each photo will be done. Details of shooting techniques will be developed with the idea and goal to process your images in RAW mode for future Post-production with leading image editing software such as Lightroom and Photoshop (or Photoshop Elements). If you do not use those those softwares that is not a problem, the spirit of the way of shooting is the same, I will accompany you in the settings on your camera, regardless of the model, we will make photos together for colored, sepia or black & white.

CONTENT OF THIS CLASS

For each location we will focus to improve technique et critics according the use of the possibilities of your camera by using the RAW mode, composition, ISO setting, use of different modes, aperture, speed, manual mode, bracketing, panoramic, HDR, Timelapse, Hyperfocal, short or long exposures, with or without a tripod. Analysis and control of each shooting.

Architecture, landscapes, urban photography, monuments, gardens, streets and city lights

EQUIPMENT REQUIRED FOR PARTICIPATING

Reflex with one lense, or more, between 14mm and 200 mm in a camera bag, Tripod (i can loan you one)

OPTIONAL MATERIAL REQUIRED FOR THE PARTICIPANT

Remote trigger release or wireless remote controller transmitter/transceiver, Filters Neutral Density (ND), external flash.

Apps on your phone : Lightrac, DOFMaster.

MATERIALS PROVIDED TO PARTICIPANT

on request if needed.

POSSIBLE LOAN FREE EQUIPMENT

Tripod, Remote trigger release, rain sleeve for camera, motorcycle jacket

ALTERNATIVES POSSIBLE DURING THE COURT

The workshop is maintained if there is rain but the participant can postponed the workshop for another day according to availability of Parisian Clichés. If the service can not be performed the participant will be refunded.

WHAT WILL LEARN THE PARTICIPANT

Beginner, confirmed or professional photographer you will take the time to experience technical possibilities of your reflex enclosure and objectives. You will adapt new tricks quickly to all the circumstances of shots on outside locations covered with a tripod.

WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE SERVICE

Cafes and drinks offered during the trip. A meal is included in Combray restaurant.

Departure is at 8 am from the a meeting point in Trocadero place in Paris. Return in the same area around 9 o’clock.
